Inspired by Shona participatory music practice (originally from Zimbabwe), this will be an open, participatory music environment, and have different peoples from all across Sheffield engage with the creation of music. We’re looking to involve all the people in Sheffield, all ages and backgrounds, asylum seekers, refugees, people that have lived in Sheffield all their life and people that may have only moved here recently, whether they play music or not. Bring an instrument or there will be some instruments / sticks available to freely pick up and play around with.
Open to all – come along and join in!
Part of our Translating Culture programme strand. In association with Translating Performance, an AHRC funded project based at the University of Sheffield. Researchers will be present at these events, looking at the role of performer and audience.
