Like their namesake, the Tippett Quartet draw inspiration from the past and future alike. They are committed to combining mainstream repertoire with contemporary works, and have been described as ‘bold and innovative… extraordinary technical accomplishment with flair and a bright communicative spark’ (The Times). The Tippett Quartet was formed in 1998, and has since performed at a number of prestigious festivals and venues including the BBC Proms and the Queen Elizabeth, Bridgewater and Wigmore Halls. The Tippett Quartet has released recordings for EMI Classics and frequently appears on BBC Radio 3.

Composer of the scores for the first two Godfather films, Italian composer Nino Rota was the career-long collaborator of Federico Fellini. Forming one of the most prolific director-composer pairings in the history of cinema, their films include La Strada and La Dolce Vita.
